Quarter-End Readiness Audit
A timed review of your close pack before books lock — cut-off, accruals, key reconciliations, and the evidence trail for board and auditor questions.
Who it is for
Controllers, finance directors, and close leads at Hong Kong companies who need an independent pass over the quarter-end pack before management sign-off. Typical clients are single-entity or small-group closes with HKFRS or IFRS reporting and a hard board or auditor date.
Result you leave with
A written readiness findings memo, a ranked issue list (blocker / needs evidence / observation), and a short debrief with your close lead. You decide what to clear before lock; we do not rewrite your ledgers for you unless you add a separate companion engagement.
Scope included
- Cut-off testing for revenue, purchases, and inventory movements around the period end
- Review of material accruals and deferrals against supporting schedules
- Walkthrough of bank, AR, AP, and selected balance-sheet reconciliations you nominate
- Check that key judgements have a documented trail suitable for board or external auditor questions
- One findings memo and one debrief session (up to 90 minutes)
Out of scope
- Full statutory audit opinion or assurance report
- Rewriting journals or preparing the entire close pack
- Tax filing preparation
- Multi-country consolidations beyond entities agreed in the engagement letter
Provider and working style
Senior reviewers from Data Softwarehub lead fieldwork. Junior staff may pull samples under supervision. We work from your trial balance, sub-ledgers, and reconciliation folders — paper or shared folders as you prefer.
Process and timeline
- Intake (day 1): Confirm entity, reporting date, materiality guidance you use, and access to close folders.
- Fieldwork (days 2–6): Sample testing, reconciliation review, and follow-up questions with your close team.
- Findings (days 7–8): Draft memo, internal quality pass, then debrief and final memo.
For a single Hong Kong entity with a moderately complex close, plan five to eight working days. Larger groups or inventory-heavy businesses may need a longer window; we state that in the proposal.
Location
Meetings at Octa Tower, 8 Lam Chak Street, Kowloon Bay, or at your office when documents cannot leave the premises. Remote review of folders is available when access and confidentiality agreements allow.
Preparation
Share the prior-quarter close pack, current trial balance, open reconciliation list, and any known problem areas at least three working days before fieldwork starts. Assign one contact who can answer cut-off questions within the same day.
Constraints
We need read access to the ledgers and supporting files in scope. If access is delayed, the reporting date may slip or the memo will note incomplete coverage. We will not expand into areas outside the engagement letter without a written change.
Pricing basis
From HK$48,000 for a single-entity readiness audit of standard complexity. Fees rise with entity count, inventory complexity, and compressed timelines (less than five working days before lock). A fixed fee is confirmed in the engagement letter after intake.
Next step
Request this engagement with your entity name, reporting date, and the areas you most want tested. We reply within one business day with availability for the coming close.
